YAMAHA HTR- 6280 SPECIFICATIONS

As we continue our reviews of the Yamaha Speakers line, we had a chance to check the Yamaha NS-IW660 3-Way In-Wall Speaker System. Right out of the box, you can see that the high quality of Yamaha is undeniable. The speakers, which come in pairs, each have a powerful 1” Titanium tweeter; a powerful Aluminum Dome midrange driver and an extremely deep 6.5” Kevlar cone woofer.

Like all of Yamaha’s In-Wall speakers, the NS-IW660s are made for an easy custom installation with paintable grills/frames, gold plated push-type terminals, a cut out template and a paint protective cover; which will blend in with almost every room design.

Ready! Aim! Blast! With the Yamaha NS-IW660 you have the ability to actually “aim” the tweeter and midrange driver to point towards the best listening location in the room, which translates to a better sound quality and the actual “feel” of the music surrounding the room. In addition, you can adjust the frequency of the tweeter to a higher level of frequency. In our tests, the higher frequency produced really great results.

The Yamaha NS-IW660 is equipped with a custom made cross over circuit. Skipping over all the scientific slang, this basically means that the distortion will be minimized to provide you with an amazing sound quality.

The quality of Yamaha is undeniable and in our search for the perfect sound system, we had our chance to try and check the Yamaha NS-IW560C In-Ceiling 2-way Speakers. The NS-IW560C arrives as a pair of white In-Ceiling speakers. Below the grill we can find a rather large 8” woofer and in the center a 1” powerful adjustable Titanium Dome Tweeter. The NS-IW560C was designed for a rapid, easy custom installation. The NS-IW560C is also equipped with a low distortion, high capacity customized crossover network. Here are some of the NS-IW560C main features:

  The NS-IW560C is built with gold plate push type speaker terminals. With the included cut-out template you will be able to easily fit and install the speakers in any ceiling. The NS-IW560C allows you to paint the grill and speaker frames to match your home décor, or you can simply hide them.

As you can see, the basic, classic AV receiver design stayed almost the same, but internally it's a whole new world, and this world is in HD!
In the following article we would like to explore and compare the differences between the old and the new and show you how you could take advantage of it. The 4 new models are:

The new Yamaha HTR-6230 is a whole new and improved version of the HTR-6130. It is a 500W 5.1 channel receiver, loaded with HD capabilities. 3 HDMI ports are included (2 ins/1 out). The HTR-6240 is a 525W 5.1 channels AV receiver, equipped with HD Audio decoding, 5 HDMI ports (4 in/1out) and new 17 Cinema DSP programs, creating richly realized independent sound fields, that envelops you in an unmatched surround-sound experience. With new scene buttons, such as Blu-Ray and HD DVD, it was never easier to use the HTR receiver. With the optional iPod dock, you can now view your iPod playlist directly on your receiver and in Western-European languages as well. Yamaha also added new decoders, such as the Dolby TrueHD for all of the new HD audio formats. And don’t worry - all the features offered by the old HTR-6140 are available in the HTR-6240.  

The Yamaha HTR-6250 is the next step up in the series and is a replacement for the HTR-6150.
